The Strategy

What defines the Shielding Strategy.

What are the advantages of the Shielding Strategy?

The Shielding Strategy combines selected companies with robust business models, precious metals, Bitcoin, and Swiss francs. The goal is to position your assets to be resilient in the long term while simultaneously utilizing potential for value appreciation. Your capital is professionally managed and held in a personal custody account in Liechtenstein.

Is it a fund?

No. The Shielding Strategy is an individually managed wealth management service for you, not an investment fund. You receive your own custody account with associated accounts at Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB). The individual investments are held directly or in the form of ETFs and ETPs in your custody account. You retain an overview of the composition of your assets at all times.

Which asset classes does the strategy invest in?

The Shielding Strategy invests in selected individual stocks, physical gold stored in Liechtenstein, a physically backed silver ETF, and a Bitcoin ETP. Additionally, a liquidity reserve is held in Swiss francs. The different asset classes are intended to complement each other in their characteristics and align the portfolio with various economic scenarios.

Which individual stocks does the strategy invest in?

The focus is on companies with robust business models whose products and services are in demand even under difficult economic conditions. These include, for example, companies from South American agriculture, raw material and mining stocks, selected energy suppliers, and internationally established consumer goods companies.

As a client, do I have influence over the strategy?

The Shielding Strategy follows a uniform investment concept that we implement equally for all clients. Individual adjustments to specific positions are therefore not provided. If you prefer wealth management tailored to your personal wishes, Estably Premium offers corresponding options for investment amounts starting from €1 million.

What role does Estably Vermögensverwaltung AG play?

Estably takes over the professional management of your assets and is responsible for all investment decisions within the Shielding Strategy. We also consider the analyses and assessments of Marc Friedrich, with whom the strategy was jointly developed. Furthermore, Estably is available to you as a personal contact for all questions regarding your investments.

Custody Account and Liquidity

Opening, deposits, and withdrawals.

What is the minimum investment amount?

The minimum investment is €100,000 or CHF 100,000. Should your custody account value fall below this limit due to market fluctuations, you are not required to deposit additional capital. There is no obligation to make additional payments.

How long does it take to open a custody account?

You can apply for the account opening completely digitally in about 30 minutes. The subsequent processing usually takes about three weeks. In case of high demand, the opening can be extended to four to six weeks.

Can I register now and deposit the money later?

Yes, you can apply for the account opening now and transfer your capital at a later date. Fees are only incurred once your money has been invested.

Are further deposits and withdrawals possible after account opening?

Yes, you can invest additional capital or arrange withdrawals at any time. Additional payments are possible in any amount. For withdrawals, only the minimum investment of €100,000 or CHF 100,000 must be maintained.

Where are my assets held?

Your assets are held in a personal custody account at Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB). Founded in 1861, the bank is one of the country's most traditional financial institutions. Its majority shareholder is the Principality of Liechtenstein.

What does the "red button function" mean?

The so-called Red Button Function symbolically represents the option to liquidate your entire portfolio at short notice and convert it into Swiss francs, if desired. This allows you to remain capable of acting even in economically or politically uncertain times. The capital is then held at Liechtensteinische Landesbank and can be transferred to your reference account.

How long does it take for my assets to be liquidated?

Once your liquidation order is received, the portfolio will be sold; most securities are immediately liquid, and the entire proceeds should be available in your reference account within two banking days at the latest.

Costs

What the strategy costs.

What costs are incurred?

Fees are based on the amount of your invested assets:

Investment Amount Management Fee Custody Account Fees Performance Fee
Under €1M / CHF 0.99% p.a. 0.30% p.a. 5 %*
From €1M / CHF 0.79% p.a. 0.30% p.a. 5 %*
From €5M / CHF Upon request Upon request Upon request

Fees are charged directly to your custody account. A separate transfer is not required.
* The performance fee is 5% of the increase in value above the previous high-water mark. It is only incurred when a new significant high is reached.

How does the high-water mark principle work?

The high-water mark principle ensures that a performance fee is only charged on value increases above the previous high. After interim losses, your portfolio must first reach this high again before a performance fee is incurred again.
A simplified example:

  • Year 1: You invest €100,000. Your custody account increases to €110,000. A performance fee of 5% is charged on the profit of €10,000, which is €500. The high-water mark is €110,000.
  • Year 2: Your custody account value drops to €105,000. Since the previous high is not reached, no performance fee is incurred.
  • Year 3: Your custody account increases to €115,000. The performance fee is only calculated on the €5,000 above the previous high-water mark. It thus amounts to €250. The new high-water mark is €115,000.

This ensures that value losses must first be offset before a performance-based remuneration is incurred again.

Are there notice periods or termination fees?

There is neither a minimum term nor a notice period. You can close your custody account at any time. For a complete custody account closure, Liechtensteinische Landesbank charges a fee of CHF 100.
